How to relieve upper back pain during pregnancy?

I'm in my third trimester, and lately, my upper back has been really aching, making it hard to find a comfortable position. The weight of the baby is probably making it worse. How can I relieve upper back pain during pregnancy?

Between the baby bump pulling me forward and my upper back screaming, I feel like a walking question mark. Just sitting with a nice warm water bag behind my back while my husband gets me snacks is my current survival strategy. Hang in there, we are almost at the finish line.

My obstetrician explained that the hormone relaxin loosens your ligaments, which shifts your center of gravity and strains the upper back. She advised doing gentle chest-opening stretches and using a pregnancy support pillow to maintain spinal alignment. Always get any exercises approved by your doctor first.

I used my pregnancy tracker app to log my symptoms and realized my back pain peaked on days I sat for too long. I started doing 15 minutes of safe, doctor-approved prenatal yoga stretches daily. It really helped open up my shoulders and improved my sleep tracking quality.

Look, carrying a baby is hard work for your spine, so stop sitting in awkward slouching positions on the sofa. Use a firm chair with good back support and don't lift heavy buckets at home. Rest as much as you can and let others help you.

A gentle massage with warm sesame oil on the upper shoulders can bring a lot of peace and relief. But if you feel any shortness of breath or if the pain is very sharp, please go to the hospital immediately. For mild muscle soreness, warmth works beautifully.

Watching my daughter struggle with back pain during her pregnancy reminded me of how tough mothers have it. I could only help by keeping her hot water bag ready and making sure she didn't bend down. Take plenty of rest, this is the time to act like a queen.

I hope you feel better soon. Try placing a small rolled towel behind your middle back when sitting, it gently supports the spine.

I just delivered my baby last month and had severe upper back stiffness until the end. Sitting with a warm heating pad for 15 minutes twice a day was my only savior. Also, try to avoid sleeping on your back, side sleeping with a pillow between your knees is much better.

I had terrible mid-back pain in my second trimester because of the growing breast size and weight shift. I switched to wearing supportive, wire-free maternity bras, and it actually made a massive difference. Try that along with a warm compress, it really helps.

Upper back pain during pregnancy should always be discussed with your healthcare provider to ensure it is not related to blood pressure issues or lung pressure. Please avoid any intense massages or chiropractic adjustments without direct medical clearance. Safety first for you and the baby.

Pregnancy is a very delicate stage, so please do not try any random exercises or herbal pastes suggested online. Speak to your gynecologist, who can guide you to a safe prenatal physiotherapist if needed. It is always better to be medically verified.
