How to relieve tailbone pain during pregnancy?

During my pregnancy, I've developed really bad tailbone pain, especially when sitting or trying to stand up. It's making daily activities very difficult. What can I do to relieve this tailbone pain?

Pregnancy puts weight in places you didn't even know existed, and the tailbone takes the worst hit! A donut pillow was my best friend because sitting directly on hard chairs was like torture. Don't worry, it gets better, but for now, invest in a good cushion.

My wife had terrible tailbone pain in her second trimester. The gynecologist recommended pelvic tilt exercises and strictly told her not to sit in one position for more than 30 minutes. Walking around periodically is simple but really helps relieve that pressure.

My daughter suffered from this during her pregnancy last year. We got her a special U-shaped coccyx cushion for her office chair, and it made a huge difference. Also, applying a warm compress gently to the lower back can help soothe the tight muscles.

Tailbone pain happens because pregnancy hormones relax your pelvic ligaments, making the joint shift. Try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees to keep your spine aligned. Avoid standing on one leg when putting on clothes as it strains the pelvis.

Between the baby kicking and this sharp tailbone ache, sleep has left the building. The only relief I get is kneeling on all fours and gently rocking my hips back and forth before bed. Give it a try, it looks funny but it actually works!

Using a soft cushion to sit and lying on your side can help take the pressure off your lower spine. Hope you get some relief from the pain soon.
