How to relieve pain behind knee?

For the past week, I've been feeling a sharp pain behind my right knee, especially when I walk or stand for too long. It's not an injury, I think. Any ideas on how to relieve it?

I completely understand how scary this feels, I literally googled behind-knee pain and panicked thinking it was a clot. Try to breathe, it is usually just a mild muscle strain or a small cyst. Rest your leg today, keep it elevated on a pillow, and see how you feel tomorrow. It gets better, don't worry too much.

I had this exact same issue last month and was convinced my knee was ruined. Turns out it was just a minor muscle pull from sitting awkwardly on my office chair. A simple ice pack for two days totally fixed it, so don't stress yourself out unnecessarily!

Apply some warm mustard oil mixed with a pinch of turmeric gently behind the knee, it helped me when I had a mild catch there. But please don't massage it too hard. If you see any sudden swelling, redness, or if you can't walk, go to a doctor immediately because those can be serious signs.

It could be a tight hamstring or a popliteus strain if you've been working out hard. Focus on gentle static stretching and make sure your protein intake is good for muscle recovery. Avoid heavy squats or running until this dull ache completely clears up.

As someone managing diabetes, I have to be very careful with leg pain because of circulation issues. I don't use high-sugar heating gels or ignore any persistent swelling behind the knee. It's always best to get your blood sugar levels checked and consult your doctor to rule out any nerve issues.
