How to relieve nerve pain after ankle surgery?

It's been a few months since my ankle surgery, and sometimes I still get this sharp, shooting nerve pain. It's quite bothersome, especially after walking a lot. Any home remedies or tips to help manage it?

Oh, after surgery, the body needs a lot of care, beta. Nerve pain is not easy. My neighbor had this after her knee surgery. Doctor gave special medicines. Please talk to your doctor only; they know best for such delicate matters. Just take good rest and eat nourishing food.

I had a different surgery, but also experienced some nerve pain afterwards. My doctors were very specific about what pain medications to take and when. They also suggested gentle massages around the area, but only once it was fully healed. I really can't give advice, but definitely stick to what your surgeon and physio tell you.

Nerve pain post-surgery is complex. Don't try quick fixes. Follow your surgeon's pain management plan to the letter. Physiotherapy is crucial for nerve recovery, so attend all sessions. Also, ensure you're getting adequate rest and nutrition; recovery is a full-time job. Time is of essence, so stick to the professional guidance.

Nerve pain after surgery sounds really worrying. Is it like a shooting pain or more of a burning sensation? I always get anxious about post-op complications. Did anyone else here experience nerve pain after ankle surgery, and how long did it take for it to get better?

I had ankle surgery last year and definitely had nerve pain, especially in the first few weeks. My physiotherapist gave me very specific exercises to desensitize the area and improve nerve gliding. The pain eventually subsided, but it was a slow process. Also, getting enough sleep really helped with managing the discomfort.

Oh no, nerve pain sounds so tough, especially after ankle surgery! My friend had something similar. She said doing all her physio exercises diligently, even when it hurt a bit, eventually made a huge difference. Also, keeping her foot elevated and using ice packs as her doctor suggested really helped with swelling and discomfort. Take it slow, okay?
