How to relieve kidney pain after stent removal?

I just had my kidney stent removed yesterday, and while I'm relieved it's out, I'm having some pain in my kidney area now. It's not as bad as before, but still uncomfortable. What can I do to relieve this post-removal kidney pain?

I'm just researching about this because my uncle is getting his stent removed next month. So, is it normal to have pain even after the stent is out? What kind of pain relief did your doctor suggest? I want to know what to expect.

After stent removal, some discomfort is common. For those with diabetes, it's extra important to manage blood sugar carefully, as high levels can slow healing. Stay very well-hydrated with plain water, but always consult your doctor on specific dietary restrictions or pain management that aligns with your diabetic care plan.

Please, please do not ignore any unusual or worsening pain after stent removal. I made the mistake of thinking it was normal post-procedure pain, and it turned out to be an infection. Always, always communicate your pain levels and any other symptoms to your doctor immediately. Better safe than sorry!

Healing from a stent removal requires careful attention, especially when you have other conditions like thyroid issues. Make sure your doctor knows about all your health conditions so they can prescribe appropriate pain management. Regular follow-ups are crucial to ensure everything is healing well and to address any lingering pain effectively.

From my own experience, there was some pain and discomfort for a few days after stent removal, especially when passing urine. My doctor had prescribed some pain medication for it. What worked for me might not work for you, so please consult your own doctor for personalized advice.

I had complications after my stent removal, and the pain was quite severe and lasted longer than expected. It's crucial to tell your doctor if the pain isn't getting better or is accompanied by fever or chills. They might need to check for infection or other issues. Don't self-medicate beyond what's prescribed.
