How to reduce pregnancy feet swelling?

I'm in my third trimester, and my feet and ankles have started swelling quite a lot, especially by the evening. It's getting uncomfortable to walk. My doctor said it's common, but how can I reduce pregnancy feet swelling effectively?

Try keeping your feet elevated on a few pillows whenever you are sitting or lying down. It really helps to reduce the heavy, tired feeling in your legs.

Beti, do not stand for too long in the kitchen or outside. Walk slowly for 10 minutes in the morning and evening, and ask your family members to gently massage your feet upwards. Take good care of yourself.

My mother-in-law advised soaking my feet in warm water with rock salt, which felt very relaxing. But my doctor also reminded me to avoid sitting cross-legged and to wear comfortable footwear. Always mention any sudden swelling to your doctor during checks.

Make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day, as dehydration can actually cause your body to retain more fluid. Also, reduce your intake of highly processed salty snacks like chips and papads, as excess sodium increases swelling.

Please be very careful with sudden swelling in your feet, hands, or face. I had a sudden spike in blood pressure (preeclampsia) in my eighth month which started with swollen feet. Please get your BP checked by your doctor immediately to rule out any risks.

Did anyone else feel like their shoes suddenly didn't fit at all during the eighth month? It makes me so anxious about fluid retention. I am trying to keep my feet up, but I hope this goes away soon after delivery.

Tracking your daily steps and avoiding long periods of standing or sitting is key. Compression socks can also help improve circulation if your gynecologist approves them. Remember to log your water intake to ensure you're staying well-hydrated.

I delivered my baby last month and had severe foot swelling in my third trimester. Sleeping on my left side and elevating my feet above heart level using pillows during the day worked best to reduce the swelling by morning.
