How to reduce hemorrhoids during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant with my second child, and I've developed hemorrhoids, which are quite painful and uncomfortable. I had them with my first pregnancy too. What are the best ways to reduce hemorrhoids during pregnancy?

My elder sister faced this terrible issue during her third trimester. She started drinking lots of water and eating whole wheat roti and oats to avoid constipation. Pushing makes it much worse, so she was very careful.

My mother advised me to sit in a tub of warm water with a pinch of salt to soothe the swelling. However, I first consulted my gynecologist, and she prescribed a safe laxative and a cream. Always safe to double-check with the doctor during these months.

I am so scared to go to the washroom because of this. Is it normal to have a little bleeding, or should I rush to the clinic immediately? Please tell me if anyone else felt this exact same fear during pregnancy.

Since thyroid issues already slow down my digestion, pregnancy made my constipation and hemorrhoids twice as bad. I had to get my TSH levels checked regularly and strictly follow my doctor's stool softener prescription. Don't let it worsen, get proper medical advice.

It is so uncomfortable, ho na, especially when sitting for long. Do warm water sits baths for 10 minutes, it gives instant relief to the area. And please don't hold your motion, go as soon as you feel the urge.

Please take rest and don't stand for too long as it increases pressure below. Sleeping on your side rather than your back can also help relieve the pressure. Hope you feel better soon.

My wife had a severe case of piles during her pregnancy. The secret is never sitting on the toilet for more than 5 minutes and using a small stool to elevate your knees. Also, increase fiber intake with raw cucumbers and papayas if your doctor permits.

No need to get embarrassed about this. Just replace normal chai with warm milk or prune juice, and eat lots of high-fiber green leafy veggies. A simple daily walk of 20 minutes also keeps the bowel movements smooth.
