I just delivered my baby last month and went through terrible bloating during my final trimester. What saved me was splitting my meals into 5-6 very small portions throughout the day instead of eating three heavy meals. Also, taking a slow ten-minute walk after dinner instantly helped release the trapped gas.

Totally agree with avoiding carbonated drinks, they make pregnancy gas much worse. Drinking warm water with lemon throughout the day helps a lot.

My gynecologist explained that increased progesterone relaxes the smooth muscles, including the digestive tract, which slows down digestion and causes severe gas. She strictly advised me to drink at least 3 liters of water daily and increase fiber intake slowly, as too much fiber too fast can also cause bloating. She also warned against taking any over-the-counter antacids without her approval.

Actually yaar, that heavy feeling after eating during pregnancy is the worst! I completely stopped having high-sugar stuff and sodas because they were bloating me like crazy. Just shifting to fresh chaas with jeera powder after lunch worked like a charm for me.

My sister used to chew a tiny bit of roasted fennel seeds (saunf) after every meal to keep her stomach light. It is very safe and helps digest the food gently. Always eat slowly and chew your food properly, it really helps with the gas.

Between back-to-back office meetings, I used to forget to drink water, which caused severe constipation and bloating. I started keeping a bottle on my desk and eating simple home-cooked curd rice for lunch instead of ordering canteen food. It is quick, highly digestible, and keeps your gut healthy without taking up extra time.
