How to reduce baby fever at night?

My baby, who is 8 months old, gets feverish almost every other night. It's usually mild, but I'm worried and want to know how I can help bring down her temperature without medicine if possible. What can I do to make her more comfortable?

Please be very careful about giving any sweet juices or glucose water to a sick baby at night to avoid stomach upset. Focus on simple hydration like plain water or very thin dal ka paani if they are old enough. Keep a strict watch on the thermometer and consult a doctor online if the temperature stays high.

When my nephew had a high fever at night, he refused his favorite khichdi and only wanted tiny sips of cold coconut water. Just keep them hydrated with whatever light fluids they are willing to take right now, don't force heavy meals. A cool environment is much better than stuffing them with heavy comfort food tonight.

My toddler gets sudden high spikes at 2 AM and it is so terrifying. I always dress him in single-layer cotton clothes and keep the fan on low so the heat can escape his body. Never wrap a feverish baby in heavy blankets, as it actually traps the heat inside and raises the temperature more.

First, please check the exact dose of paracetamol drops or syrup prescribed by your doctor based on your baby's weight, not age. Keep a lukewarm wet sponge wipe handy to gently pat down the underarms and forehead. If the baby is unusually drowsy, crying continuously, or showing rapid breathing, take them to the emergency room immediately.

In our family, we have always used normal tap water strips on the forehead and neck to bring down the heat gently. Never use ice-cold water as it can cause shivering and make the baby more uncomfortable. If the fever is high, please do not wait till morning, consult your pediatrician immediately.
