How to recover from vacation weight gain?

I just got back from a vacation where I ate everything possible and gained a few kilos. I want to lose it quickly before it becomes a habit. How can I recover from this vacation weight gain?

Don't panic at all! Most of that sudden vacation weight is just water retention from eating saltier restaurant food. Just get back to your regular home-cooked meals, drink plenty of water, and you will see the scale drop in a week.

Honestly, enjoying local food is the best part of any holiday, so don't regret it! To balance it out now, I just do simple portion control and swap my evening bhel for sprouts. No need to starve yourself to make up for those tasty vacations.

At my age, even looking at a vacation menu adds two kilos! I just accept it as part of life now. I slowly start my daily evening walks again and cut down on my sweet chai, and things return to normal eventually.

I gained 3 kgs in just a one-week trip to Goa and now I'm so stressed out. Does this happen to everyone else too, or is my metabolism just broken? I'm terrified that I won't be able to lose this weight.

Do not buy those 'fat burner' pills or detox teas to lose vacation weight fast; they are useless and can harm your liver. Just eat balanced meals and stay active. If you are struggling with unexplained rapid weight gain, consult a doctor to check your thyroid.

Bro, my hostel friends and I ate junk daily during our trip, and my jeans got so tight. I'm just drinking lots of water and skipping late-night maggi for a couple of weeks. It always works and gets you back in shape easily.

I just came back from a family trip to Rajasthan and gained 2.5 kgs from all the ghee. I drank warm lemon water in the morning and ate simple yellow dal-chawal for dinner. In just five days, the bloating went away and I feel super light now.

Stop overcomplicating this. You didn't gain actual fat in one week, it is mostly water weight and bloating. Get back to your gym routine, cut out alcohol and sugar for ten days, and you'll be back to your normal weight.

A sudden increase in weight and salt intake from vacation food can sometimes affect your blood pressure. I make sure to check my BP after trips and strictly restrict pickles and papad. Focus on a low-sodium, home-cooked diet to recover safely.

I used to get frustrated with vacation weight gain, but now I have a system. I do a light 45-minute walk daily and replace one meal with oats or boiled dal for a week. Consistent, simple routine is far better than doing any extreme dieting.
