How to recover from knee pain?

My knees have been hurting a lot lately, especially after I walk for a bit. My mother said it's probably just old age, but I'm only 40! How can I make them feel better?

Look, knee pain won't just go away by magic or applying random gels. If it is due to an injury or wear and tear, go get an X-ray or MRI done. Once you know the issue, work with a good sports physio to strengthen your quadriceps.

At my age, knee pain is an old friend, but you can definitely manage it well. Don't lose hope; regular light walks on a flat surface and keeping your body weight in check keeps the joints lubricated. Just be consistent and don't rush.

I ignored a slight tear in my knee ligament for months, thinking it would heal on its own, and now I have chronic pain. Please don't make the same mistake. Go see an orthopedist and get a proper diagnosis before the damage becomes permanent.

My knees creak more than my old apartment's wooden doors, honestly. I try to do some basic leg raises in bed when I can't sleep at 3 AM. Just find a good knee brace, it is a lifesaver when you have to walk around.

I messed up my knee playing football last month and it was swelling like crazy. Honestly, the RICE method (rest, ice, compression, elevation) worked wonders for the first few days. Don't try to run or play through the pain, it only makes it worse.

For mild joint pain, gentle yoga practices like Sukshma Vyayama (subtle movements) for the knees can be very healing. Avoid deep squats or pressure on the joints, and instead focus on strengthening the thighs. Warm sesame oil massage at night also brings a lot of relief.

My grandmother always suggests applying warm murivenna oil for any joint pain, which is quite soothing. However, for chronic knee issues, I always consult our orthopedic doctor first. Combining medical advice with traditional care works best for me.
