My son's wife struggled with this. It's not about *preventing* weight gain entirely, as some is necessary for the baby. It's about healthy, controlled gain. Encourage nutritious meals, portion control, and light activities like walking, if the doctor approves. Don't stress too much, just be sensible.

Uh, preventing *pregnancy* weight gain sounds weird. You're supposed to gain some, right? But I guess eating healthy and not going crazy on cravings is important. My sister just walked a lot and ate ghar ka khaana, and she was fine.

Excessive weight gain can sometimes lead to high BP or gestational diabetes during pregnancy. It's crucial to eat a balanced diet, control portion sizes, and incorporate light exercise like walking daily, if your doctor allows. Regular checkups to monitor both weight and BP are a must.

Yaar, you can't *prevent* all weight gain, that's not healthy! But you can manage it. Actually, my doctor told me to focus on eating nutrient-dense food, not just 'eating for two'. Lots of fruits, veggies, daal. And walking daily, if allowed. Don't skip your antenatal yoga if you can! It helps.

My pregnancy had complications, so I learned that weight gain needs to be carefully monitored by a doctor. Too much or too little can both be risky. Follow your doctor's specific recommendations for diet and exercise. Do not try any crash diets or unsupervised exercise routines; it could be dangerous.

Thyroid issues can sometimes affect weight gain, so if you have any, ensure they are well-managed during pregnancy. Regular blood tests and follow-ups with your endocrinologist and gynecologist are essential to keep both your thyroid and your weight in a healthy range. It's all connected.

For someone managing diabetes or at risk, controlled weight gain in pregnancy is critical. Focus on low-glycemic foods, plenty of fiber, and avoid sugary drinks and refined carbs. Regular small meals instead of large ones help stabilize blood sugar and prevent excessive weight. Always consult your doctor for a personalized diet plan.
