I remember when my wisdom teeth were coming in back in my twenties, the pain used to keep me awake. It is a natural phase of growing up, so don't worry. Doing warm salt water rinses three times a day is a tried and tested way to keep the area clean and reduce swelling.
My son is going through this right now as his lower wisdom tooth is cutting through. I give him soft foods like cold yogurt, dal-rice, and fruit smoothies so he doesn't have to chew hard. Applying a cold pack on the outside of his cheek also helps ease his pain.
You don't need any expensive gels for this. Just take a small piece of fresh ginger or a clove and hold it gently near the aching gum. Keep rinsing your mouth after every meal so food particles don't get trapped in the growing gum flap.
Actually, that jaw stiffness is the worst part, yaar. I used to chew on cold cucumber slices and it gave so much relief to my gums. But seriously, go get an X-ray done to make sure it isn't pushing your other teeth.
While saltwater rinses can provide temporary relief, wisdom teeth often grow at odd angles and get impacted. The best approach is to get a dental X-ray (OPG) done. A dentist's professional advice is necessary to see if the tooth has enough space to grow or needs extraction.

At my age, I thought I was done with teeth issues, but my daughter's wisdom teeth are now giving me a headache! She is constantly cranky from the pain. I told her to hold some ice on her cheek and stop talking for a while, which gives relief to both of us.
With my PCOS, I already deal with so many inflammatory issues, so dental pain can feel extra draining. I try to stick to gentle home remedies like warm saline rinses and soft foods. If the pain gets too severe, it is best to consult a dentist rather than guessing.
