How to help teething baby sleep?

My 6-month-old baby has started teething, and he's so cranky and keeps waking up crying at night because of the discomfort. It's hard for both of us to get any sleep. What can I do to help my teething baby sleep better?

You can try freezing a clean, damp washcloth or even a piece of cucumber if they are old enough to chew safely. The cold really numbs their gums, and they will happily munch on it before sleeping. Works like a charm for my nephew.

Don't buy those amber teething necklaces, they are a choking hazard and have zero scientific backing. Stick to simple BPA-free silicone teethers kept in the fridge (not freezer, as that's too hard). Keep their bedtime routine absolutely consistent.

Avoid those homeopathic teething tablets as they can have safety issues. Instead, gently rub their gums with a clean finger or a silicone finger brush before bedtime. If they are in severe pain and cannot sleep at all, consult your pediatrician for the correct dose of paracetamol.

My sister's little one is crying all night because of teething, and we are all so worried. Is it safe to use those teething gels available in pharmacies, or do they have side effects? Please advise if any of you have used them.

When my son was teething, he refused to sleep unless we rocked him. I found that giving him a gentle, warm bath right before bed helped relax his body. Also, keep wiping the drool from their chin so they don't develop an itchy rash that keeps them awake.
