How to help knee pain from running?

I love running, but lately, I've developed knee pain that kicks in after a few kilometres. It's really disheartening. What can I do to help my knee pain from running and get back on track?

I recently started jogging and my knees are aching a lot. Should I stop running completely or just reduce my speed? I am not sure what is safe.

I totally get it, it is so frustrating when you want to run but your knees just won't cooperate. Take a break for a few days and focus on light stretching.

I was researching this and read that running on concrete surfaces is very bad for the joints. Maybe try running on grass or a mud track once your pain subsides.

I went to a sports medicine doctor for my runner's knee. Ask your doctor clearly if you need specific physical therapy to strengthen your quadriceps.

The main culprit is usually old running shoes that have lost their cushioning. Invest in a good pair of running shoes and always warm up before your run.

My son had this when he joined the school track team. We got him knee sleeves and made sure he applied ice packs after every practice session. It really helped.
