How to get rid of pregnancy stretch marks?

I'm noticing purple lines appearing on my belly and breasts, and I'm worried they will get worse as my pregnancy progresses. My mother had very bad stretch marks. How can I get rid of pregnancy stretch marks, or at least minimize them?

I'm so worried about getting stretch marks! I've been applying oils, but I still see some lines forming. Does anyone else feel like it's inevitable no matter what you do? Is there really anything that truly works or is it just genetics?

Stretch marks are largely genetic and depend on skin elasticity, but hydration helps. I have a thyroid condition, and healthy skin is so important for me. Keep your skin well-moisturized. If you're concerned about underlying skin health during pregnancy, your doctor can also advise if any tests are needed.

Honestly, once they're there, it's hard to 'get rid' of them completely. I regret not starting moisturizing early and consistently. Hydration from within (drinking water) and externally (oils/creams) is your best bet to minimize them. But even then, some are unavoidable. Don't beat yourself up about it.

Realistically, you can't entirely prevent or 'get rid' of them if your skin is prone. However, consistent moisturizing throughout pregnancy with specific stretch mark creams or natural oils like almond oil or cocoa butter can help minimize their appearance and keep your skin supple. It's about maintenance, not magic.

Pregnancy stretch marks are a very common physiological change, often influenced by genetics and skin type. While many creams and oils claim to 'remove' them, their efficacy is limited. Consistent hydration and keeping the skin supple might help reduce severity. For any post-pregnancy treatments, always consult a dermatologist; they can suggest safe and effective options.
