How to get rid of a head cold during pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester and caught a really nasty head cold. I'm worried about taking anything strong. What are safe ways to get rid of a head cold during pregnancy?

Please do not worry too much, a normal cold won't harm the baby. Just take steam inhalation twice a day and drink warm water. Avoid taking any over-the-counter tablets without your gynecologist's green light.

My mother-in-law advised me to drink warm ginger water, which did give me some relief. However, I still called my gynecologist first to confirm if it was safe. Always trust your doctor's word above all during these months.

Haan, cold during pregnancy is very annoying, na. I used to drink warm milk with a little turmeric before sleeping, which helped soothe my throat. Just make sure to consult your doc before taking any kaadha.

No need to run to expensive clinics immediately for a basic cold. Try steam inhalation at home first. But do keep a budget aside for regular checkups just in case the fever drops or rises suddenly.

Yes, steam inhalation is the safest way. It helps clear nasal congestion instantly without any risk to the baby.

I am in my second trimester and got a bad head cold yesterday. Did anyone else experience safe recovery with just warm water and steam? I am so scared of taking any medicines right now.

Pregnancy is already a workout, and now a stuffy head on top of it! Just get some saline nasal drops, they are safe and will let you breathe so you can enjoy your pregnancy cravings in peace.
