How to gain weight with hyperactive thyroid?

My thyroid is overactive, and because of that, I've lost a lot of weight unintentionally. I'm finding it really hard to put it back on. Any advice on how to gain weight when you have a hyperactive thyroid?

This sounds tricky, just like managing PCOS can be! With hyperactive thyroid, your metabolism is already fast, so gaining weight needs a very specific approach. Please, please consult with your endocrinologist and a dietitian who understands thyroid conditions. Self-experimenting can be risky.

I've had thyroid issues for years, though mine was hypo. The most important thing is to keep your thyroid levels in check with regular blood tests and follow your doctor's medication plan religiously. Once your levels stabilize, then your doctor can guide you on a proper diet for weight gain. Don't try anything without medical supervision.

This is a common challenge with hyperthyroidism. First, ensure your thyroid medication dosage is optimal. Then, incorporate healthy fats like ghee, avocado, and nuts into your diet. Small, frequent meals with good protein and carbs are better than just 3 big ones. And yes, a doctor-approved plan is non-negotiable here.

I remember panicking when I was losing weight despite eating a lot, and it was a bit confusing. My doc explained that with hyperthyroidism, your body burns calories super fast. So you'll need a calorie-dense diet, but the *right* kind of calories. Just make sure your meds are adjusted first, then food will help.

Oh, please don't ignore this. I once thought my rapid weight loss was just stress, but it turned out to be an underlying issue. With hyperactive thyroid, it's not just about eating more; your body processes food differently. Get a thorough check-up and discuss a plan with your doctor before you try any remedies. It's truly important.

Beta, with hyperthyroid, it's not like gaining weight normally. Your body needs extra energy to function. So focus on foods that are dense in calories but also healthy. Like full-fat milk, paneer, and a handful of nuts daily. But always, always keep your doctor in the loop about your diet and symptoms. Patience is key.

Hey! That sounds tough, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to try to gain weight when your body is working against you. My aunt had this, and her doctor put her on a high-calorie, nutrient-rich diet with lots of complex carbs and healthy fats. Please talk to your doc for a personalized plan, don't just follow general advice.
