How to ease knee pain arthritis?

My knees have been hurting quite a lot due to arthritis, especially after I've been standing for a while. The stiffness and pain make simple tasks difficult. What can I do to ease knee pain from arthritis?

My orthopedist explained that arthritis knee pain is due to the wearing down of cartilage, which causes joint friction. He advised doing low-impact exercises like swimming or stationary cycling to strengthen the quadriceps without straining the joint. He also suggested using a knee sleeve for stability and avoiding sitting on the floor.

Managing joint pain with arthritis requires a steady routine, much like how I monitor my thyroid levels through regular blood tests. Chronic inflammation in the body needs proper medical care and lifestyle changes rather than quick fixes. Please keep up with your regular doctor consultations and blood panels.

At 66, my knees also crack and ache during the winter or rainy season, so I understand your struggle. Don't worry, with gentle daily walks and the right joint supplements from your doctor, you can live very comfortably. Just avoid climbing too many stairs and keep your weight in check.

I have guided many elders in our community who deal with osteoarthritis knee pain. The key is to never let the joint become completely stiff; do gentle leg extensions while sitting on a chair. Also, investing in comfortable, well-cushioned footwear can reduce the impact on your knees significantly.

For daily stiffness, a gentle massage with lukewarm sesame oil or a warm compress can bring thoda relief to the knee muscles. However, if you see sudden redness, severe swelling, or if the knee feels hot to touch, please see an orthopedic doctor immediately as it could be a flare-up or infection.

My father ignored his knee arthritis pain for years and tried random massage oils, which eventually led to severe joint deformity and difficulty in walking. Please do not delay getting a proper diagnosis and X-rays done. Consult a rheumatologist or orthopedist early to discuss the best treatment plan.

I totally get it, arthritis knee pain can make even simple tasks like standing up or walking to the kitchen feel like a mountain to climb. Please try to take some rest when the pain flares up and avoid any heavy lifting. Do consult a specialist to find some effective relief.

My grandfather has bad arthritis knee pain and it really sucks to see him struggle to walk. He uses a basic knee support brace when he goes for his small evening walks, and he says it helps him feel much more stable. Hope your knee feels better soon!
