How to decrease swelling in hands during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant and recently my hands have started feeling very puffy, especially in the morning. Even my rings feel tight. Is there anything I can do to help with this hand swelling?

Swelling in hands during pregnancy? Normal for many, but not to be ignored. Remove all your rings now, don't wait for them to get stuck. Keep hands elevated, drink lots of water, and cut back on salt. And for God's sake, tell your doctor about it, even if it feels minor. Better safe than sorry, always.

My sister had this during her pregnancy. She was told to drink lots of water and keep her hands up. Also, she removed all her rings early on so they wouldn't get too tight. It's pretty common, but yeah, talk to your doctor, they'll know best.

For any swelling during pregnancy, especially if managing diabetes, it's critical to monitor blood sugar levels very closely. High sugars can affect circulation and fluid retention. Along with doctor's advice on elevating hands and reducing salt, ensure your diet is balanced and sugars are controlled. Don't take it lightly.

Oh, hand swelling in pregnancy can be uncomfortable, beta. Make sure you're not wearing any tight jewellery. Try doing gentle hand exercises, like clenching and unclenching your fists, to help circulation. And always, always keep your doctor updated about any new or worsening symptoms.

This is exactly what I'm worried about! My hands already feel a bit puffy. Does anyone else get pins and needles with it sometimes? I'm so scared it's something serious. What did your doctors say was the normal limit for hand swelling?

My wife had this and we initially thought it was just normal pregnancy swelling. But it got really bad and turned out to be a sign of preeclampsia. Please, do not ignore swelling in your hands, especially if it comes on suddenly or with headaches. Get it checked by your gynaecologist immediately.

I had significant hand swelling in my third trimester! My doctor advised me to sleep on my left side, avoid excessive salt, and do gentle hand clenches. It was annoying, but these tips, plus making sure my blood pressure was fine, really helped. It generally eases after delivery.
