How to combat menopause weight gain?

I'm going through menopause and have put on a lot of weight, especially around my waist, which was never an issue before. It's making me feel quite uncomfortable. What are the best ways to combat menopause weight gain?

My mom went through this exact same thing last year and she was so annoyed. Honestly, she started doing casual walks every evening with her friends and it helped her state of mind so much. I think trying to force crazy diets just makes the mood swings and stress worse at that stage, so stay chill.

Haan na, weight just doesn't want to move during this time, very frustrating. Even if I eat less, the stomach area keeps getting heavier. I have started focusing on simple home food and drinking warm water, it helps slowly but you have to keep patience ho na.

My aunt had this issue and she loves her chole bhature and sweets way too much to ever stop. She realized that portion control is the only realistic way to survive this. Instead of quitting your favorite dishes, just eat half of what you normally do and add extra curd or salad to fill up.

Please get a full thyroid panel and blood sugar checkup done first. I kept assuming my weight gain was just normal menopause and ignored it for two years, only to find out my thyroid levels were completely messed up. Don't wait like I did, get your doctor to run some blood tests.

It is actually so hard to manage this because your metabolism just crashes, yaar. I started strength training twice a week because standard cardio was doing nothing for me. Building a little muscle really helps burn calories even when you are resting, you should try it.

I went through this fifteen years ago and felt so hopeless about my changing body. Trust me, with time your body settles into its new normal and things become much easier. Just focus on staying active and eating fresh, local food instead of fighting your body.
