How to avoid ear pain during flight?
I have a flight next week, and the last time I flew, my ears hurt so much during landing. It was really painful and lasted for a few hours. Is there anything I can do to prevent that ear pain when flying?

This is very common! The simplest solution is to chew gum or suck on a candy during take-off and landing. Swallowing helps equalize the pressure in your ears. Also, if you have a cold, it's better to use a decongestant spray before the flight, but consult a doctor for that.
For ear pain in flight, it's about managing pressure. While my focus is usually on fitness, this is a physiological thing. Chewing or yawning helps. Staying hydrated is also generally good for your body, though maybe not directly for ear pressure. Avoid sleeping during descent.
Oh, my daughter used to cry so much during flights because of ear pain! What worked for us was making her drink sips of water or breastfeed/bottle-feed during take-off and landing. The swallowing motion really helps. Also, special earplugs are available for flights, which help regulate pressure.
It's all about equalizing ear pressure. Chew gum or suck on hard candy during ascent and descent. The Valsalva maneuver (pinching your nose, closing your mouth, and gently trying to exhale) can also help, but do it carefully. If you have a cold, consult a doctor about decongestants before flying.
I actually tracked my flights and noted when the ear pain was worse! Keeping hydrated before and during the flight helps. Also, special flight earplugs are available online that slowly regulate air pressure; they can be quite effective. Try not to sleep during the plane's descent.

This used to happen to me all the time! Now, I always carry chewing gum. Chewing actively during take-off and landing makes a huge difference. Also, try yawning widely, or just gently swallowing saliva. It helps 'pop' your ears and relieve the pressure. Hope it works for you too!
