How to avoid acidity in stomach?

I've been getting a lot of acidity in my stomach lately, especially after eating spicy food. It's quite uncomfortable and sometimes causes a burning sensation. What can I do to avoid this acidity and feel better?

Oh, I totally get it! Acidity is the worst. What helped me a lot was eating on time and never skipping meals. Also, drinking enough water throughout the day. And try to identify your trigger foods – for me, it's very spicy curry and sometimes coffee. It's all about listening to your body.

Look, it's mostly about what and when you eat. Avoid skipping meals, especially breakfast. Cut down on oily, spicy, and processed food. Don't lie down right after eating. Drink enough water. If it's still bad, then talk to a doctor, don't suffer in silence.

Bhai, acidity se bachne ke liye, sabse pehle toh khana time par khao. Zyada tel-masale wala khana mat khao. Subah uth kar thoda paani piyo. Aur raat ko halka khana khao. Meri mummy hamesha kehti hai ki pet sahi toh sab sahi. Simple tips hain, try karo.

My doctor advised me to implement several changes. These included avoiding large meals, especially close to bedtime, and identifying specific trigger foods like spicy items, citrus, and caffeine. He also suggested maintaining a healthy weight and incorporating probiotics. If basic lifestyle changes don't work, then further medical investigation is usually recommended to rule out underlying issues.

Beta, acidity is a common problem if we don't take care. Always eat home-cooked food. My mother used to say chew a little saunf (fennel seeds) after meals, it helps with digestion. Also, drink a glass of cold milk if you feel the burn. But if it's very often, then please consult a doctor, don't ignore it.

Acidity can be so debilitating, I completely understand the frustration. What really helped me was identifying my trigger foods. For some, it's coffee, for others, it's tomatoes. Also, eating very slowly and mindfully made a big difference. And yes, avoiding stress helps a lot because stress can really flare it up.
