How to announce pregnancy to parents?

My husband and I are expecting our first baby, and we want to share the news with our parents. We want it to be a sweet surprise for them. Any ideas on how to announce our pregnancy to our parents?

We kept it very simple and sweet. We bought a small pair of baby booties and gifted it to my parents-in-law during dinner. The look of pure confusion turning into tears of joy on their faces was absolutely priceless.

Honestly bro, we just got a custom cake that said 'Grandparents Loading'. Handed it to them on a Sunday evening and let them read it. No dramatic setups, just direct and high energy reactions.

I can only tell you what worked beautifully for us last year. We framed the first ultrasound photo and wrapped it up like a normal gift. When my mom opened it, she started crying immediately, it was a very emotional moment.

Don't rush to announce it the minute you see a faint line on a home kit, as those can sometimes be tricky or confusing. Wait until you have your first official ultrasound and your gynaecologist confirms everything is healthy. Once the doctor gives the green light, go ahead and share the happy news.

I literally did this last month! We invited both our families over for a casual dinner and said we wanted to take a group photo. Instead of saying 'cheese', my husband yelled 'Megha is pregnant!' and I captured their shocked expressions on video.

Enjoy this quiet phase because once the baby arrives, sleep becomes a myth! We actually announced it by giving my parents a coffee mug that said 'Nani and Nana'. Now they use those mugs to drink tea while helping me pacify a crying baby at 3 AM.

No need to spend a lot of money on big setups, simple things work best. Just organize a normal family lunch at home and announce it over dessert. It keeps everyone comfortable and you can easily video call relatives who live far away right after.
