How to alleviate heartburn in pregnancy?

My sister is pregnant, and she's really struggling with constant heartburn. She says it's making her feel very nauseous too. What can she do to alleviate heartburn in pregnancy safely without affecting the baby?

Oh, pregnant heartburn is such a real thing! 😩 I found eating small, frequent meals really helped, and avoid anything too spicy or oily. Also, sleeping with your head slightly elevated can make a difference. Hope you feel better soon! 😊

Haan ji, pregnancy mein heartburn badi problem hai. Mere bhabhi ko bhi bohot hota tha. Usne bola ki thanda doodh peene se thoda relief milta hai. Aur khana khaane ke turant baad letna nahi, thoda walk kar lo bas.

Heartburn? More like heart-on-fire! 🔥 Honestly, I just accepted it as my new normal during pregnancy, haha. But seriously, my doc suggested avoiding citrus and tomatoes, which was tough 'coz cravings! Also, don't eat too close to bedtime. Good luck, u need it!

It's best to discuss this clearly with your gynecologist. At Apollo, my doctor gave me a list of safe antacids to take if it got too bad, and also stressed about portion control and staying hydrated. Self-medicating during pregnancy is not a good idea at all.

Ah, the joys of pregnancy eating! Heartburn is a common visitor. I'd say try to identify your trigger foods – for me, it was anything super fried or very garlicky. Bland is your friend for a bit, even if it's boring. Maybe some plain yogurt or khichdi?
