How soon will a pregnancy test read positive?

I'm hoping to get pregnant and tracking everything carefully. If I am pregnant, I want to know as early as possible. How soon after conception or a missed period will a pregnancy test typically read positive?

Most home kits will show a clear positive within 1 to 2 days after your missed period. If you try to test before that, the hormone level might be too low to register. It is always better to wait a little to get a definite answer.

Honestly, don't jump the gun. Testing like 10 days after is usually too early to show up positive. Wait till your periods are actually late by a day or two, otherwise you will just get super confused with the results.

If you test too early, you'll end up squinting at the strip under ten different lights trying to see a line that isn't there! Save yourself the headache and wait for a missed period. Those couple of extra days of patience are totally worth your peace of mind.

I know how desperately one wants to know early, but no home trick or early test works as well as waiting. A standard urine strip test will show a proper positive about 15 days after ovulation. Give your body time to show the natural signs.

From what I have read, the HCG hormone needs time to multiply, which is usually around 12-14 days after conception. Until then, just keep eating a clean, nutrient-dense diet and stay hydrated. You will get a clear positive test after your missed period date.

Don't waste time on ultra-early detection kits, they are not always reliable. Wait till the exact day of your missed period. If it's positive, great; if you are still unsure, just go to a lab for a beta HCG blood test. It's that simple.
