How soon after unprotected sex can you take pregnancy test?

I had unprotected sex and now I'm quite worried. Can someone please tell me how soon after unprotected sex I can take a pregnancy test that will actually be accurate? I don't want to wait forever, but I also need to trust the result.

I just went through this stressful phase last month. I tested on day 9 and it was negative, but on day 14 I got a clear positive. Do yourself a favor and don't test before 14 days; the early negative is often just a false alarm.

Aap bilkul chinta mat kijiye. Kam se kam do hafte yaani 14 din ka samay dijiye body ko. Uske baad hi test karenge toh sahi nateeja milega, pehle karne se koi fayda nahi hoga.

Please be very careful with this. You can do a urine test after 14 days, but if you have severe cramps, spotting, or if you had unprotected sex and are worried about emergency contraception, please consult a gynaecologist within 72 hours instead of just waiting to test.

Waiting is tough, especially when you are trying to distract yourself with food! But seriously, don't rush to test before 14 days. Grab some good snacks, relax, and let the hormone levels actually build up first before peeing on a stick.

While 14 days is the standard time for a home urine test to work, I always advise getting a blood test or consulting a doctor if you missed your period. Self-testing is good, but a proper medical consultation ensures you get accurate advice and early care.

No point wasting money on multiple kits by testing too early. The kits cost around 50-100 rupees, and if you test on day 5, 8, and 10, you are just wasting cash. Just wait for 14 days after, buy one single kit, and do it once and for all.

Yes, totally agree with waiting at least 14 days. Doing it any earlier will just show an incorrect negative and make you anxious.

I always tell people on this forum that 14 days is the absolute minimum. If you want to be 100% sure, waiting 21 days after unprotected sex is even better. Use the first urine of the morning for the most reliable result.
