How reliable are blood pregnancy tests?
My period is late, and I'm quite anxious. My doctor suggested getting a blood test to confirm pregnancy. I was just wondering, how reliable are these blood pregnancy tests compared to, say, a home kit?

They are as reliable as it gets, my friend. Unlike those urine strips where you are squinting at faint lines like a detective, a blood test gives you a clear yes or no. Just pay the lab and get done with it.

They are supposed to be very accurate, but I still feel so nervous about getting a false result. Has anyone here ever had a blood test show negative but actually turned out to be pregnant later? I am thinking of booking one tomorrow.

Honestly, they are 100% reliable. My friend was super stressed and got a beta hCG blood test done at a local clinic, and it cleared all doubts instantly. Much better than panicking over home kits!

I completely understand how stressful waiting for pregnancy results can be, the anxiety is real. You can trust blood tests completely as they are virtually 99% accurate and can detect pregnancy much earlier than home kits. Hang in there, it will all be clear soon.
