How rare is a false positive pregnancy test?

My friend had a positive pregnancy test, but then her period came. She's really confused and worried. I want to know how rare a false positive pregnancy test actually is. Can it happen often?

Honestly, they are super rare! Mostly those home test kits are very accurate if you follow the timing properly. Just try one more time tomorrow morning for peace of mind! 😊

They don't happen often unless you are taking some specific hormonal medications. Just like checking blood sugar, any home kit can have a tiny error margin. Best is to go for a proper beta hCG blood test to be absolutely sure.

Beta, in my experience, false positives almost never happen. Sometimes if you read the line after too much time has passed, it looks positive but it is just an evaporation line. Don't worry, get a quick doctor's advice and they will guide you.

My doctor at Kokilaben Hospital told me that false positives only happen in very rare medical conditions or if the kit is expired. It is always better to just book a consultation and do a proper scan or blood test. They will tell you clearly what to do next.
