How much vitamin d3 should a diabetic take?

I'm diabetic and also have low Vitamin D. My doctor said to take supplements, but I forgot to ask about the exact dosage. How much Vitamin D3 should a diabetic person typically take?

Bhai, for diabetics, Vitamin D3 is often needed, but don't just start taking it. Go to your doctor, get your blood test done for D3 levels. They will tell you the exact dosage, whether it's 1000 IU or more. Every case is different, so follow your doc's advice, not what you hear generally.

Initially, when my husband got diagnosed with diabetes, I panicked about every supplement. But our doctor explained that Vitamin D deficiency is common in diabetics. He prescribed a specific dose after checking his blood. It's quite normal for diabetics to need it, so don't worry, just get it checked and follow the doctor's plan.

Oh, the never-ending list of 'what should a diabetic take'! Haha. Vitamin D3 is definitely on that list for many. Just remember, it's not like adding an extra sugar cube to your tea, where you just guess. Get your levels checked, and your doctor will give you the 'sweet spot' dosage. No guessing game here!

Like thyroid patients, many diabetics also face Vitamin D deficiency. It's so common! My endocrinologist always stresses on getting regular blood tests done, not just for sugar but for D3 too. Based on those reports, they will prescribe the right amount. It's usually a higher dose initially if very low, then a maintenance one. Regular follow-ups are key.

For diabetics, Vitamin D3 supplementation is often necessary as deficiency is prevalent. However, there's no universal dose. It's critical to have your current Vitamin D levels tested. Your diabetologist will then prescribe the appropriate dosage, typically ranging from 1000-2000 IU daily for maintenance, or higher for correction. Do not self-medicate.

My uncle is diabetic, and his doctor put him on Vitamin D3 because his levels were really low. He takes about 2000 IU every day. It helped him with his energy and general mood. But yeah, his doctor told him the exact dose after checking his blood. Can't just guess with these things when you have diabetes.
