How much vitamin b12 for nerve pain?

My hands and feet have been tingling a lot lately, and the doctor said it might be nerve issues. Someone mentioned B12 could help with nerve pain; I'm curious about the right amount.

Please, please don't ignore nerve pain. I did, thinking it was just muscle ache, and it got much worse. B12 deficiency can definitely cause it, but you need to get tested properly by a doctor. Don't self-medicate, get a proper diagnosis first.

My doctor explained that for nerve pain specifically caused by B12 deficiency, the dosage can be quite high initially, often through injections. For maintenance, he suggested around 1000-2000 mcg per day orally, but it really depends on your levels and severity. It's not a one-size-fits-all answer.

I totally get how nerve pain can make you search for anything that might help. B12 is often linked, but honestly, nerve issues can be complex. Have you had your B12 levels checked recently? Sometimes doctors prescribe higher doses to kickstart recovery.

For nerve health, B12 is crucial, especially if you're vegetarian or vegan. Besides supplements, make sure your diet includes fortified foods. Exercise also helps with overall nerve function and circulation, not directly for B12 but good for body. Always good to get blood work done to see your actual levels.

Ugh, nerve pain sounds so scary. I always worry about deficiencies causing these kinds of serious issues. It's good you're asking about B12, but please make sure a doctor confirms it's B12 related and tells you the right dose. Don't want to take too much or too little if it's something else.

Hi! For nerve pain related to B12 deficiency, doctors often start with injections or very high oral doses, like 1000-2000 mcg daily, to replenish stores quickly. This is much higher than the standard daily requirement. It's crucial to consult a doctor to confirm the deficiency and get the right treatment plan.
