How much hair loss is normal when brushing?

Every time I brush my hair, it feels like a mini-furball comes out. My mother says it's normal to lose some hair while brushing, but I'm concerned it might be too much. What's the usual amount of hair one loses when brushing?

Normal when brushing? Enough to make you look at your brush and go 'Oh, it's shedding season for humans again.' 😅 Kidding aside, a small handful is usually fine, especially if you haven't brushed for a while. Don't worry unless you're literally pulling out clumps.

When brushing, you're essentially gathering all the loose strands that have shed throughout the day or since your last wash. So seeing a small amount is normal. I've noticed healthier hair when my diet is rich in greens, nuts, and lentils. Protein is key!

Ugh, brushing hair is a daily anxiety trigger for me! I always feel like I'm losing too much. They say it's normal to see a few dozen strands, as brushing helps release already shed hair. But if it's alarming you, get a doctor's opinion, it helps with peace of mind.

When brushing, naturally some strands will come out, especially if you have long hair. My grandmother always said to brush gently. But if it's large amounts every day, where you see a big clump, then it's wise to consult a doctor, just to be sure.

My doctor explained that brushing pulls out hair that's already detached. So a fair amount can come out. But if it's excessive, and you have other health conditions like high BP or thyroid, sometimes these can impact hair. Always good to monitor overall health.
