How much does it cost to donate a kidney?

My uncle needs a kidney transplant, and I'm considering donating. I know there are tests and procedures involved. Could anyone tell me, roughly, how much does it cost to donate a kidney?

Oh, for kidney donation, there should ideally be no cost to the donor, ho na? The recipient or their insurance typically covers all the medical expenses for the donor, including tests, surgery, and follow-up care. That's the humane way.

Legally and ethically, a live kidney donor should not incur any costs. All medical expenses related to the donation process, from screening to surgery and post-operative care, are borne by the recipient or their insurance. It's crucial to confirm this with the transplant coordinator at the hospital before proceeding.

Ideally, it costs nothing for the donor! All expenses are covered by the recipient side. It's a selfless act, and the system is designed to protect the donor from financial burden. If anyone asks you to pay, it's a huge red flag. Stay safe and aware!

Haan ji, kidney donate karne mein donor ko koi paisa nahi lagta. Sara kharcha patient ka hota hai. Government rules aise hain taaki koi illegal kaam na ho. Na hi koi donor ko paise de sakta hai, na hi donor se paise le sakta hai. Important hai yeh janna.

I've researched this out of curiosity. The donor is not supposed to pay anything. All medical bills for the donor are handled by the recipient's family or their insurance. It's a strict rule to prevent organ trafficking. So, zero cost for the donor is the standard.
