How much caffeine can i drink during pregnancy?

I just found out I'm pregnant, and I usually have a cup of chai in the morning. My MIL told me to completely stop caffeine. How much caffeine is considered safe to have daily during pregnancy, if any?

I am also quite confused about this. My elder sister told me that a small cup of light chai is fine daily, but I am still very scared to try. Did your doctor mention any specific limit for tea?

Honestly, the hardest part of pregnancy is giving up that triple-shot espresso. Don't worry, my wife survived on one small cup of filter coffee daily and our baby is perfectly fine and hyperactive! Just don't start drinking it like water and you will be good.

Please keep an eye on your blood pressure too during this time. Caffeine can sometimes spike your BP, so it's best to limit it to less than 200mg a day. Make sure to get your routine checkups done regularly so the doc can monitor your heart rate and BP.

Generally, up to 200 mg of caffeine per day is considered safe, which is about one standard mug of instant coffee. But remember that colas, chocolates, and green tea also have caffeine. Try to swap your second cup with warm milk or coconut water instead.

At my age, even looking at coffee after 6 PM ruins my sleep, so I can only imagine your struggle. Just stick to one small cup of mild tea or coffee in the morning. Don't go searching for fancy energy drinks, keep it simple and get your rest.

During both my pregnancies, I kept it very simple. I had one small cup of filter coffee in the morning to keep my sanity, and avoided it for the rest of the day. Listen to your body and always ask your gynac during your monthly checkup.
