How much alcohol liver process?

I've heard different numbers about how much alcohol the liver can handle. Can someone clarify how much alcohol the liver processes?

I used to drink without caring about what the liver can process until I developed fatty liver. Please don't ignore this and get a proper liver function test done to see how your body is actually coping.

I read that the liver can only process one small drink an hour, and now I am super worried about my weekend drinking habit. Does anyone else get anxious about their liver health after a night out with friends?

It is terrifying to think how slow the liver is at processing alcohol, just one drink an hour! I get so worried about accidental damage, so I think it is best to avoid alcohol altogether or keep it extremely minimal.

I agree with what others are saying, the liver processes about one standard drink per hour. Staying hydrated and drinking water in between really helps reduce the load.

At fifty, my liver probably takes a whole business day to process one pint of beer! Medically, they say it is one drink per hour, so let's not make the poor organ work overtime.
