How many weeks pregnancy test?

I missed my period and am thinking of taking a test. How many weeks after conception or a missed period can I take a pregnancy test for accurate results?

You can take a urine pregnancy test about 1 week after your missed period, which is roughly 5 weeks from your last period. Since I have a thyroid issue, my doctor advised me to get a beta-hCG blood test immediately to adjust my thyroxine dosage right from the start. Definitely get a doctor's consultation once you get a positive result.

Most modern home test kits can detect pregnancy at around 4 weeks, which is usually the day of your missed period. If you track your ovulation using an app, you can test about 14 days after ovulation. For the most accurate result, use the first morning urine sample.

I got so anxious and tested way too early at 3 weeks, and it showed a very faint line which confused me so much. It is much safer to wait until 5 weeks (one week after your missed period) to get a clear, strong positive line and avoid unnecessary stress. Stay calm, everything will be fine!

Don't waste money testing too early. The most reliable time for a home pregnancy test is 4 to 5 weeks from your last period date. If it is positive, schedule an appointment with a gynaecologist for a proper blood test to confirm the pregnancy status.

Just test on the first day of your missed period, which is usually week 4. If you want 100% accuracy without any doubts, skip the home strip and go directly to a nearby lab for a beta-hCG blood test.
