How many hours should a 1 month old sleep?

My 1-month-old sleeps a lot during the day, but then is awake quite a bit at night. Is this normal? How many hours should a 1-month-old infant typically sleep?

At 1 month, babies should sleep a lot, around 14-17 hours. But watch for any unusual changes. My friend's baby was excessively sleepy and not feeding, and it turned out to be jaundice. If you notice anything concerning, always, always consult the pediatrician immediately. Don't wait.

For a 1-month-old, they need a lot of sleep, typically 14-17 hours in a 24-hour cycle. It's vital for their growth. Just like managing blood sugar needs consistency, babies need consistent feeding and sleep. Ensure they are well-fed before sleep to avoid waking up hungry.

Hey, don't stress too much! A 1-month-old sleeps practically all the time, right? Like 14-17 hours a day, but in short bursts. They'll wake up for feeds, pee, poop, and then sleep again. Just keep feeding them and let them sleep, that's their main job right now!

I'm curious about this too, as my cousin just had a baby! From what I've read, 1-month-olds sleep a LOT, like 14-17 hours in total throughout the day and night. It's broken up, so parents don't get long stretches, but the baby itself is mostly sleeping.

For a 1-month-old infant, the recommended sleep duration is typically 14 to 17 hours per 24-hour period. This is crucial for their rapid growth and neurological development. However, these hours are usually fragmented. For any specific concerns about your baby's sleep patterns, always consult your pediatrician.

Okay, so for a 1-month-old, it's about 14-17 hours of sleep in 24 hours. Don't expect long stretches at night; they usually sleep for 2-4 hours at a time. Main thing is they're feeding well and have enough wet diapers. Just keep them safe and cozy.

A 1-month-old needs extensive sleep, around 14-17 hours in total, but they wake frequently for feeds. It's a phase of intense development. While I focus on adult health, I always hear pediatricians stress consistent feeding and a safe sleep environment. If baby seems distressed or lethargic, please see a doctor immediately.
