How many hours can you go without sleep?

Sometimes due to work or emergencies, I have to pull an all-nighter. It got me wondering, for an average person, how many hours can you really go without sleep before it becomes dangerous or severely affects your health?

Beta, you shouldn't go too long without sleep. Your body needs rest. Maybe 24 hours at max without much effect, but after that, your mind gets foggy. My nani used to say, 'raat ki neend lakhon ki dawa hai'. Take care of yourself.

While people claim to go days without sleep, it's extremely detrimental to health and cognitive function. After 24 hours, impairment is significant, similar to being intoxicated. Going beyond 36-48 hours seriously affects mental and physical health. Please don't experiment with sleep deprivation; it's dangerous. Always consult a doctor for sleep issues.

Just like a balanced diet is crucial, so is sleep. Going without sleep for too long can seriously mess up your metabolism and even food cravings. Most people can't function well beyond 24 hours without sleep, and it gets risky after that. It's really not worth it for your health.

I've had to pull all-nighters for exams, maybe 20-24 hours without sleep. But by the end, I felt completely drained and couldn't even think straight. It's really bad for your focus and mood. Anything more than that sounds really difficult and unhealthy, you should definitely prioritize sleep.

Ah, in my younger days, during college or big projects, I've pulled all-nighters, maybe 30-36 hours without sleep. But trust me, you pay for it big time afterwards. Your brain just doesn't function. It's not sustainable or healthy at all. Best to get your rest regularly.
