How many hours a day should 2 month old sleep?

My two-month-old is sleeping a lot, but I'm always worried if it's too much or too little. Can someone guide me on how many hours a day a 2-month-old baby should ideally sleep?

A 2-month-old needs around 14-17 hours of sleep in a 24-hour cycle. It's not continuous, though, with lots of short naps. For us adults, it's about getting enough rest to stay fit. For babies, it's crucial for their development. Always ensure they're feeding well alongside sleeping.

Oh, I'm trying to learn about baby care as I might be an aunt soon! So, 14-17 hours, that's a lot. Do they sleep for long stretches at that age, or is it still many short naps through the day and night?

A 2-month-old *should* sleep around 14-17 hours, but my son mostly slept when *he* felt like it, which was usually not when *I* felt like it! 😂 It's like they have their own sleep agenda, definitely not following any textbook schedule at that age. Just try to survive, parents!

For a 2-month-old, about 14-17 hours of sleep in 24 hours is considered normal. This helps their little minds and bodies grow. Creating a calm environment for them, perhaps with gentle sounds, can aid in peaceful sleep, just as a calm mind helps us achieve deep meditation.

I remember panicking so much about my 2-month-old's sleep! It felt like he was never sleeping enough, or too much. But doctors said around 14-17 hours, even if it's broken up. Every baby is different, so don't worry too much if your baby is active and feeding well.

Oh god, this is one of those questions that could make a new parent super anxious! My doctor said 14-17 hours, but every baby is different. Are they feeding well? Are they happy and alert when awake? Those are key. Don't stress too much over exact numbers, just observe your baby.
