How many days after intercourse can you test for pregnancy?

My husband and I are hoping to start a family, and we had unprotected intercourse recently. I'm so impatient! How many days after intercourse can you test for pregnancy to get an accurate reading? Don't want to test too early.

Is anyone else also counting down days obsessively? I'm on day 10 and so tempted to test, but I read we should wait at least 14 days. Did you guys get a correct result before 14 days or did it show a false negative?

My girlfriend and I went through this panic last semester. Don't bother testing before 14 days, it is just a waste of money and sleep. Wait for 2 weeks minimum, then use a good quality kit first thing in the morning.

Just wait 14 to 21 days, it is simple science. The body needs time to build up hormone levels. If you are anxious and want an immediate result after a missed period, just go for a blood test at a lab.

I am quite new to this and a bit nervous. People say 14 days is good, but is it okay if I wait for 20 days just to be absolutely sure? Also, does the brand of the kit make a big difference?

Keep calm and wait for 14-15 days! 🗓️ Testing early might just give you a confusing faint line, so let the magic number of two weeks pass first. Good luck! 👍

Listen, don't stress too much! Just mark 14 days on your calendar from that day and try to distract yourself until then. Watch a movie, go out with friends, and then test. It will all be fine, chill.
