How many dates to eat during pregnancy?

I am pregnant, and everyone in my family is suggesting I eat dates, especially as I get closer to my due date. They say it helps. How many dates should I eat during pregnancy? Is there a specific number that is beneficial?

I got my diet plan from Fortis Hospital, and my gynecologist recommended having 4 to 6 dates daily starting from the 36th week of pregnancy. Please ask your doctor clearly about this, especially if you have high blood sugar.

During my wife's pregnancy, she had high BP issues, so we were very careful. She ate about 4 dates a day in her final month for natural strength. Regular medical checkups and monitoring of BP and blood sugar are very important during this phase.

My elder sister was eating like 5-6 dates every day with warm milk in her ninth month. She said it helped her stay energized and helped with her digestion too. It actually tasted pretty good when she made date milkshakes!

Medical studies suggest that consuming 6 dates per day starting at 36 weeks of gestation can promote cervical ripening and facilitate labor. However, since every pregnancy is unique, consulting your obstetrician is the most appropriate approach.
