How many daily hair fall is normal?

My hair fall seems a bit more than usual lately, especially after shampooing. I'm not sure if it's normal or something to worry about. How many daily hair strands falling out is considered normal? I'm hoping it's just stress.

Don't worry too much, up to 100 strands a day is quite standard for everyone. Just keep your scalp clean and eat healthy.

Losing about 50 to 100 hairs a day is totally normal. But please, if you notice patches or extreme thinning, go see a dermatologist immediately. I ignored my heavy hair fall for months thinking it was just seasonal, and now I regret not acting sooner.

Generally, up to 100 strands a day is completely normal. If you feel it's much more, try checking your ferritin and Vitamin D3 levels first, as these are the most common culprits behind sudden hair shedding.

My doctor explained that human scalp has around 1 lakh hairs, so shedding 50-100 daily is just part of the natural shedding phase. It only becomes a clinical concern if the density doesn't return or if you see bald spots.

While 50-100 is the textbook normal, massive hair fall can sometimes indicate thyroid issues or severe vitamin deficiencies. It is always safest to get a complete blood count and thyroid panel checked by a physician.

My family always tells me to apply home-made coconut oil with curry leaves, which is good. But my dermatologist told me that losing 80-100 strands daily is biologically normal as new hair grows in its place.
