How many calories weight gain?

My family always says I'm too thin, and I want to put on some healthy weight. I'm trying to figure out how many calories I should be eating daily to actually gain weight. Does anyone have a general idea or formula?

Honestly, it's not a fixed number for everyone. It generally takes about 3500 calories *extra* per week, which is 500 extra per day, to gain one pound of weight. But this varies a lot with your metabolism, activity level, and body type. Best to focus on healthy, calorie-dense foods.

My doctor explained it really well when I asked this. He said a general rule of thumb is a surplus of 500 calories per day to gain about 0.5 kg (1 pound) a week. But he also stressed that these calories should come from nutritious sources, not just junk, otherwise you gain fat not muscle. Also, consistency is key.

Hey yaar, don't stress too much about exact calorie numbers right away. Just start by adding a bit more healthy stuff to your meals – like an extra banana, some nuts, or a glass of milk. Focus on nutrient-rich food and see how your body feels. It's more about steady effort than a magic number.

Beta, when I was young, we didn't count calories like this. We just ate healthy ghar ka khana and stayed active. If you want to gain weight, eat proper meals, don't skip breakfast, and add some healthy snacks like laddoos or dried fruits. Be patient, it takes time. Focus on good health, weight will follow.

It's different for everyone, but generally, you need to eat more calories than you burn. Maybe try adding small, healthy meals or snacks throughout the day. Don't worry too much, just keep trying steadily.

I use MyFitnessPal and it's super helpful for this! It calculates your maintenance calories based on your age, weight, and activity, then suggests a calorie surplus (like 300-500 extra) for weight gain. It makes tracking easier, you can see if you're hitting your targets. It's a good way to start without guessing.

Yaar, this is something I've been researching too! Mostly, people say around 300-500 extra calories a day if you want to gain weight slowly and healthily. It's not just about eating more, but eating *right* – like having good fats, protein, and complex carbs. Don't go for chips and sodas, that won't help in a healthy way.
