How long will a stroke show up on an mri?

My uncle recently had a stroke, and the doctors did an MRI. They said it shows some damage. How long does that stroke injury remain visible on an MRI scan? Will it always show up, even after recovery?

The MRI machine has super-vision, it can spot changes within minutes of a stroke happening! Even older scars from years ago stay on the report like an unwanted memory. But don't worry, the doctors know exactly how to read those scans.

Yes, an MRI is highly accurate. It can show signs of a stroke within 30 minutes of it happening and the marks can remain visible for years.

MRIs are incredibly advanced now and can show stroke changes very fast, often under an hour. After recovery, focusing on a clean diet and light rehab exercises is key. Keep working closely with the doctors for the recovery path.

An MRI with diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is very sensitive and can detect an acute stroke within 15 to 30 minutes of onset. These changes can be visible for several weeks, and the old stroke scar can be seen on scans for life. If someone has sudden weakness or speech issues, please rush to the ER immediately.

Let's be clear, an MRI can detect a stroke almost immediately, and those marks will show up forever as old damage. If you are asking because of a recent emergency, stop reading online and get the patient to a hospital right now.

When we had a health scare in our family, the doctor explained that an MRI shows the stroke within minutes and the scar remains visible on scans forever. It helped us plan the right therapy. Keep a diary of any symptoms and show it to your neurologist.
