How long until a pregnancy test shows positive?

My period is late and I'm hoping for good news. I took a pregnancy test this morning, but it was negative. How many days after a missed period can a pregnancy test reliably show a positive result if I am pregnant?

Trust the journey and keep your mind peaceful during this time. A positive result usually shows up clearly once you have missed your period by a day or two. Keep praying, take care of your health, and stay hopeful.

Haan na, starting me test kiya toh line dikhti hi nahi and anxiety badhti hai. It takes about 12 to 14 days after conception for the hormone to show up on the strip, ho na? So missed period tak wait karna is best.

I agree with the advice here. Waiting until at least the first day of your missed period is the only way to avoid false negatives.

For us, waiting until the missed period date was crucial because we wanted to be absolutely sure before adjusting my diabetes management plan. Make sure you don't skip your balanced meals and keep your blood sugar stable while waiting. The test needs high hormone levels to show a clear positive.

Realistically, you should wait until 14 days after intercourse for the test to show a reliable positive. Testing earlier than that is mostly a waste of time and kit cost. Keep a track of your dates on a calendar app.

A home test can show a positive result as early as 10 to 12 days after fertilization, but it is much safer to wait for your missed period. Use the first urine of the morning because it has the highest concentration of the pregnancy hormone. That way you won't get a faint, confusing line.

In my personal experience, I tested three days before my missed period and got a negative, which made me really sad. But when I tested again three days after my missed period, it was a very clear positive. So waiting really makes a difference.
