How long to wait before pregnancy test?

My period is late, and I'm anxious to take a pregnancy test. How long should I ideally wait after my missed period to take the test for the most accurate result? I'm hoping for good news!

Generally, it's best to wait until at least a week after your missed period. That way, you get a more accurate result. Don't stress too much, just be patient.

My gynaecologist told me that home pregnancy tests are most accurate about 7-10 days after a missed period. This is because hCG levels, the hormone detected, need time to build up in your urine. Waiting a bit longer reduces chances of a false negative.

Honestly, if you're really anxious, just go to a doctor. They can do a blood test which is more accurate and can detect pregnancy earlier than a home kit. Better safe than sorry, always.

Generally, if your period is late by 5-7 days, you can use a home kit. Buy a good brand from a medical store, not just any shop. First morning urine gives the best result, remember that.

My wife waited about 10 days after her missed period for both our kids. It was accurate. Also, ensure you're not doing any heavy workouts if you suspect you might be pregnant. Just mild activity for now.

If you're trying, make sure you're eating a balanced, healthy diet. And for the test, wait a week after your missed period. Hydrate well, but don't drink excessive water right before the test as it can dilute your urine.

Hey! It's super common to be impatient, I know the feeling! Most home tests recommend waiting until your period is at least a day or two late for a reliable result, but a week is even better for accuracy. All the best!
