How long should you wear a knee brace for arthritis?

I have arthritis in my knee, and my doctor suggested a knee brace for support. I'm not sure if I should wear it all the time or just for certain activities. How long should I generally wear a knee brace for arthritis?

Bhai, knee brace for arthritis, na? My old neighbor wears one only when he walks far or feels a lot of pain. It's not like you wear it all day, every day. You have to ask your doctor, they will tell you for how much time and when to wear it. Don't just keep wearing it without asking, okay?

With arthritis, just like with high BP, it's about managing the condition long-term. A knee brace isn't a permanent fix, but a support. The duration you wear it depends on your pain levels and daily activities. My doctor always says for any chronic condition, regular checkups are key, so discuss it with your orthopedic specialist.

For something like arthritis, do not rely on internet advice for how long to wear a knee brace. That's a medical device, and its use needs to be guided by a doctor or physiotherapist. Wearing it incorrectly or for too long can weaken muscles. Always verify with your doctor, not random forums.

My son has juvenile arthritis, and his orthopedist advised wearing his knee brace only during specific activities or when pain is high, not all the time, because it can make the muscles weak. The duration really varies for each person and type of arthritis. Please consult your doctor for personalized advice.

When I first got my knee brace for arthritis, I was worried I'd have to wear it forever. But my physio said it's mainly for support during activity or when the pain flares up. So, it's not usually a continuous thing. You'll get clear instructions from your doctor, just follow them and don't panic like I did.

While my fitness tracker helps with exercise, for medical devices like a knee brace for arthritis, you really need specialist advice. I've read that some people wear it only during physical activity, others for longer periods. The key is to discuss it with your physiotherapist or rheumatologist to get a tailored plan, they'll guide you best.
