How long does postpartum hair loss last?

I'm experiencing a lot of hair loss since giving birth a few months ago. Every time I comb, so much hair comes out, it's making me really anxious. How long does postpartum hair loss usually last?

This hair fall problem is common, but it can be quite distressing. Sometimes it's just hormonal, but other times it can be due to nutrient deficiencies. A blood test for iron and Vitamin D could be useful, but remember, lab tests can get expensive. Plan it with your doctor to avoid unnecessary ones.

Oh my God, I completely understand your worry! I was losing so much hair after my baby, I thought I was going bald. I researched everything online, which probably made me more anxious. Most people say it stops by 6-12 months postpartum, but it's still so scary to see so much hair everywhere.

Hair fall after delivery is something many women face, just like blood pressure issues can sometimes arise. It's usually hormonal. Keep your diet balanced and try to manage stress. Regular check-ups with your doctor are key to understanding your specific situation, just like I monitor my BP.

Oh, the joys of motherhood! Hair loss, dark circles, sleepless nights... it's like a package deal. For me, it slowly tapered off after about 9 months. I used to joke I was leaving a trail of hair everywhere like Hansel and Gretel. Just try to enjoy the baby, the hair will grow back eventually, usually.

Typically, postpartum telogen effluvium (the fancy name for this hair loss) lasts for about 3 to 6 months after it starts, peaking around 4-6 months postpartum. It should resolve itself within a year. When you next visit your gynecologist or a dermatologist, ask them clearly about it and what supplements, if any, you can take.

Yaar, this postpartum hair loss is a real pain, no? My sister-in-law went through it, and actually, it stopped for her around 7-8 months after the baby. Just make sure you're eating well and trying to reduce stress, as much as that's possible with a newborn, haha!
