How long does morning sickness last in pregnancy?

I'm in my first trimester and the morning sickness is just terrible. My mother-in-law says it will pass, but I'm really struggling. How long does morning sickness usually last in pregnancy? I just need some hope!

For most of my friends, it started getting much better right around week 12 to 14. I found that keeping some dry biscuits right by my bedside to eat before getting up really helped settle my stomach. Just hang in there, your body is doing some amazing work right now!

I am currently in my 10th week and the nausea is just constant from morning to night. Did anyone else feel like it would absolutely never end, or did it suddenly stop one day? I am so worried that this might last for the entire nine months.

Haan, shuru ke teen mahine toh nikalne hi padte hain, uske baad life thodi normal hoti hai. Mera toh second trimester lagte hi vomiting bilkul band ho gayi thi. Thoda nimbu paani try karo, usse man accha hota hai na.

Look, every pregnancy is different. For 80% of women, it goes away by the fourth month, but some unfortunate ones have it till delivery. Don't sit and suffer quietly; if you cannot keep any liquids down, go to your gynaecologist and get safe pregnancy-safe anti-nausea medication.

I literally just got over this last week as I entered my 15th week of pregnancy. Up until week 13, I couldn't even stand the smell of tadka or tea without gagging. It really does get better almost overnight, so please don't lose hope.

In both of my pregnancies, the nausea settled down around the 13th week like clockwork. My best tip is to eat small, frequent meals every two hours instead of three large ones, as an empty stomach triggers the vomiting reflex. Sucking on ginger candies also works wonders to cut down that metallic taste.

It usually starts fading away by the end of the first trimester. Take plenty of rest and don't force yourself to eat anything that makes you feel uneasy right now.

They call it 'morning' sickness but it is actually a 24/7 festival of nausea! Mine finally took a break around the 16th week, only to be replaced by insomnia and kicking. Enjoy the sleep while you still can, even if you have to sleep with a bucket next to you.
