How long does knee pain last after knee replacement?

I had knee replacement surgery about two months ago, and my knee still hurts, especially when I walk too much. My doctor said it's normal, but I want to know how long does this knee pain usually last after the operation?

The intense pain usually starts settling down after 4 to 6 weeks, but a mild ache can remain for up to 3 to 6 months. Make sure you don't skip the physiotherapy sessions to save money, as proper exercise is key. Regular ice packs and keeping the leg elevated are cheap and highly effective for swelling.

The surgical pain reduces significantly within the first month, but full recovery takes about 6 months. It's all about consistent rehab and strengthening your quadriceps and hamstrings. Stick to the leg exercises your therapist gave you, and eat enough protein to help the tissues heal.

Look, it is a major bone surgery, so don't expect magic in ten days. The real pain lasts for about a month, and then it becomes a dull, bearable stiffness for another few months. Take your prescribed painkillers on time, do your daily exercises, and don't sit crying about it, it takes time to heal.

Realistically, you will need 6 weeks off from active work as the pain and stiffness are quite demanding in the initial phase. By month 3, you can easily manage daily commuting and office work with minimal discomfort. Plan your work leave accordingly so you don't rush the recovery.

Babuji, operation ke baad pehle ek-do mahina kaafi dard rehta hai, par dheere dheere aaram mil jata hai. Hamari patni ka bhi hua tha, teesre mahine se wo bina sahare ke chalne lagin. Aap bilkul chinta mat kijiye, himmat rakhiye aur roz koshish kijiye.

I know how overwhelming and scary it feels when the pain doesn't go away even after 3 weeks of surgery. Please don't lose heart, this is completely normal and most patients feel a major turning point around the 6th week. Just take your medications regularly and trust the healing process.

The main recovery pain lasts around 6 weeks. Applying a warm mustard oil massage on the calves (not the joint) can help ease muscle tension, but please check with your doctor first. If you notice sudden redness, extreme heat, or pus around the stitches, go straight to the surgeon as it could be an infection.
